who are minnie & james?
minnie and james are my great grandparents. they lived in ilford, england, which is where my mom and my nana were born. james was a pattern maker and a tailor to many of the london opera singers. minnie made silk ties by hand and was a seamstress.
every time i sew and create i think of minnie and james. they are my inspiration and my drive...

is a one woman sewing thing. i teach kiddies by day and sew by night and on the weekend.
all of my creations are sewn by me and only me. all of the fabric i use has been hand selected, washed (with hot water and scent free/ eco friendly detergent) and line dried.
currently, most of my dresses and tops are custom orders (as are my billfolds and other items that may appear in the shop). i make every garment with my trusty little sewing machine and my hands. occasionally, there will be a slight imperfection... but, that's what makes each handmade piece unique from anything else! please enjoy!
also, please be aware that custom orders take 4-6 weeks to arrive at your door! (i will always email you once i've sent the package out... and, probably several other times before that to assure you get the dress/ top you want!)

is it true that 50% of your sales will be donated to help support the barack obama campaign?
yes! yes, this is true! until october 4th... 50% of sales will go to help the obama campaign... i believe it is so important to speak up and support the candidate we want to see in office. i believe this with all of my heart!
and... for the weekend of sept. 26th- 28th... 80% of sale items sales will go the barack obama and his crew so we can make sure the right person is in place this time next year!

fabrics i use
all of my fabrics are natural fibers (unless noted) and nearly always cotton. i am, currently sewing through my large stash and, once i've done so hope to refill it with more eco- friendly sustainable fabrics.
i like to use chambray cottons, lawn cottons, linen and cotton/ linen blends, 100% cotton, and vintage fabrics (sometimes i don't know what their fiber content is...)

i ship all of my garments via first class or (most likely) priority mail (with delivery confirmation) from my local post office! (to domestic and international destinations)
